An established global professional services organization with a collaborative, innovation-driven culture is seeking a Business Development Manager to support its transactional teams. You’ll partner closely with senior BD leadership and practice group attorneys to drive growth initiatives, strengthen client relationships, and elevate the market profile of key practice areas.

Role Overview
As a core member of the transactional BD team, you will:

Lead Initiatives & Special Projects

Support BD Directors in planning and rolling out new programs using project-management best practices

Collaborate with recruiting, pricing, pro bono, and other business-services functions on cross-team efforts

Drive working groups and change-management activities to ensure smooth adoption of BD systems (CRM and experience-management platforms)

Conduct strategic research on prospective clients, competitors, and practice trends to inform market positioning

Practice Group & Go-To-Market Support

Coordinate agenda development and deliverables for practice-area and industry-focused meetings

Assist in crafting thought-leadership pieces, award submissions, and pitch materials that highlight the firm’s expertise

Manage logistics for client events, webinars, and conference activations—handling invitations, materials, on-site execution, and follow-up

Process Monitoring & Improvement

Help document and refine BD processes to support onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer

Draft detailed project plans, track milestones and resource needs, and escalate obstacles for timely resolution

Monitor budgets and assist with financial tracking for BD initiatives

Provide coverage across functional areas during peak periods to ensure seamless team performance

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Minimum of 5 years in business development or marketing within professional services (law firm experience preferred)

Proven project-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple high-volume tasks under tight deadlines

Strong change-management mindset and comfort driving adoption of new tools and processes

Excellent written and verbal communication; able to engage confidently with senior lawyers and cross-functional colleagues

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive team player

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and familiarity with CRM or experience-tracking platforms
