​About the Organization
A leading global law firm—renowned for its work in technology, data privacy, and cybersecurity—is seeking a seasoned Business Development & Marketing Manager to elevate its market presence and drive growth for its privacy and cyber-risk practice. You’ll collaborate with regional and global BD, marketing, events, communications, and intelligence teams to execute high-impact initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Business Development & Client Growth

  • Design and implement targeted client-outreach programs and pursuit teams for cybersecurity and data privacy matters.

  • Lead creation of tailored pitch decks, capability statements, and BD presentations—crafting compelling narratives that showcase the practice’s expertise and value proposition.

  • Advise practice leaders on pipeline management, opportunity qualification, and follow-up strategies across regions.

  • Oversee the gathering and integration of practice experience data into the firm’s CRM and experience-management systems.

  • Identify and coordinate cross-practice and cross-regional collaboration opportunities to expand client engagements.
     

Strategic Planning & Analytics

  • Partner with practice heads to develop segment-specific BD plans, define objectives, allocate resources, and track progress against goals.

  • Leverage internal data and analytics platforms to measure initiative effectiveness and inform strategic adjustments.
     

Profile Raising & Thought Leadership

  • Manage submissions for industry rankings, directories, and awards—drafting practice statements and coordinating interview preparation.

  • Drive external visibility through sponsorships, speaking engagements, and PR campaigns in collaboration with communications teams.

  • Support production of thought-leadership content by monitoring market trends and working with attorneys and editorial partners.
     

Event & Engagement Management

  • Plan and execute client-focused events, seminars, and webinars—handling logistics, materials, attendee communications, and post-event follow-up.

  • Analyze attendee engagement and CRM data to refine future programming and demonstrate ROI.
     

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Supervise and develop BD & marketing staff: participate in recruiting, onboarding, performance reviews, and ongoing coaching.

  • Establish and maintain best-practice guidelines, workflows, and playbooks to ensure consistency and operational efficiency.

  • Contribute to annual budget planning, monitor expenses, and recommend resource reallocations as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum eight years in business development, marketing, or related roles within professional services, with at least two years of team-leadership responsibility.

  • Proven project-management skills, capable of juggling multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong eye for detail and quality control.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; comfortable learning new design and CRM platforms.

  • Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to build relationships at senior levels.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally and adjust working hours to meet business needs.
