Overview
A top-tier international legal practice—known for its collaborative culture and innovative approach—is seeking a Business Development Manager to partner with its finance and restructuring attorneys. In this hands-on role, you’ll work alongside sector specialists, marketing colleagues, and senior lawyers to shape growth strategies, produce client-facing materials, and drive outreach initiatives.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Proposal & Presentation Leadership

    • Own the development of client proposals and pitch decks, coordinating inputs from legal teams and drafting narrative content.

    • Update and maintain core practice messages and proof points for use across presentations, web pages, and collateral.
       

  • Directory & Awards Coordination

    • Manage submissions to legal directories and league tables; collaborate with communications on award entries and deal announcements.
       

  • New Hire Integration

    • Support the onboarding of lateral joiners by creating integration roadmaps and overseeing targeted client-outreach plans.
       

  • Cross-Practice Collaboration

    • Team up with BD peers across other specialty groups to uncover cross-sell opportunities and co-author pitches that span multiple practice areas.
       

  • Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis

    • Conduct research on potential clients, rivals, and market trends to inform positioning and growth tactics.
       

  • Event & Sponsorship Management

    • Plan and execute client events—receptions, roundtables, webinars—handling logistics, invites, on-site coordination, and follow-up engagement.

    • Identify key industry conferences, sponsorships, and speaking slots; liaise with organizers to secure participation.
       

  • Systems & Reporting

    • Leverage CRM and experience-tracking tools to log activities, measure impact, and generate insights for leadership reviews.

    • Draft internal updates, meeting agendas, and performance summaries to keep practice-group heads informed.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 5–8 years in business development or marketing—preferably within a law firm or professional services environment

  • Exceptional project-management skills with the ability to juggle multiple high-priority tasks under tight deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication, including editing and proofreading prowess

  • Collaborative mindset; comfortable influencing senior lawyers and working across diverse teams

  • Tech-savvy with solid Microsoft Office skills; familiarity with CRM or client-experience platforms
